1:1 TUNING
Off-The-Shelf (OTS) ECU Calibration — Terms, Conditions & Disclaimer
Applicable Vehicles: Honda Civic Type R FK8, FL5, and Acura Integra Type S DE5
Supported Platforms: Hondata FlashPro and COBB Accessport, where applicable
1. OTS Tune Purpose & Philosophy
1:1 Tuning OTS calibrations are professionally developed using extensive experience with Honda's turbocharged K20C engine platform.
Our calibrations are designed to deliver substantial performance improvements over factory calibrations and generic tuning-device basemaps while prioritizing engine protection, controlled power delivery, and long-term mechanical reliability.
Our tuning philosophy is simple: Achieve the best practical performance from a given combination without unnecessarily compromising engine or turbocharger reliability in pursuit of an arbitrary number.
An OTS calibration is not a maximum-effort custom tune. It is a developed calibration intended for vehicles equipped with specific, supported modifications.
2. Boost Pressure & Performance Expectations
Boost pressure alone is NOT a measurement of horsepower, engine efficiency, or tuning quality.
A higher boost pressure reading does not automatically indicate greater horsepower or torque.
Actual power output depends on numerous factors, including airflow, turbocharger efficiency, intake air temperatures, ignition timing, fueling, environmental conditions, engine efficiency, and installed modifications.
1:1 Tuning does not calibrate vehicles to achieve arbitrary boost pressure numbers simply because another calibration or basemap displays a higher value.
Excessive boost pressure can increase turbocharger stress, charge temperatures, exhaust backpressure, and engine operating loads without necessarily producing a corresponding increase in performance.
All boost pressure targets, torque management strategies, ignition timing, fueling, and protective limits are selected based on our calibration development and intended operating conditions.
No specific boost pressure, horsepower, or torque output is guaranteed. Differences between our OTS calibrations and factory, competitor, or tuning-device basemaps are not grounds for refunds.
3. Vehicle Modifications & Compatibility
OTS calibrations are intended for vehicles equipped with the standard bolt-on modifications specifically supported by the selected tune.
Examples may include compatible intake systems, intercoolers, and other supported bolt-on components.
Vehicles with upgraded turbochargers, high-pressure fuel pumps, aftermarket injectors, camshafts, significant engine modifications, or unsupported fuel configurations may require a custom E-tune.
The customer is responsible for accurately disclosing all installed modifications, fuel type, and relevant vehicle information prior to calibration delivery.
Installing an OTS calibration on a vehicle with unsupported modifications, mechanical problems, or an incompatible fuel system may result in improper operation or component damage.
1:1 Tuning reserves the right to decline OTS calibration delivery and recommend a custom tuning service when the vehicle's configuration falls outside the supported application.
4. Engine Safety, Reliability & Mechanical Condition
Every 1:1 Tuning OTS calibration is developed with consideration for engine protection, thermal management, fueling requirements, turbocharger operating limits, and reasonable performance expectations.
However, performance tuning inherently introduces additional mechanical loads and operating risks.
No ECU calibration can guarantee protection against engine failure, turbocharger damage, drivetrain failure, or other mechanical issues.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is mechanically sound, properly maintained, and operated using the required fuel grade.
1:1 Tuning cannot control fuel quality, mechanical condition, installation quality, environmental conditions, vehicle maintenance, or subsequent ECU modifications.
5. OTS Tuning vs. Custom Tuning
An OTS calibration is not individually optimized for every vehicle and does not include the same testing, datalog review, and calibration refinement associated with our custom E-tuning service.
Individual vehicles may produce different boost levels, power outputs, and operating characteristics even when equipped with similar modifications.
Customers seeking individualized boost targets, specific power goals, alternative fuel optimization, or calibration adjustments based on datalogging should purchase our Custom E-tuning service.
Requests for custom changes to boost targets, ignition timing, torque output, or other calibration parameters are not included with an OTS tune purchase.
6. All Sales Final — No Refunds
ALL OTS TUNE SALES ARE FINAL. NO REFUNDS, RETURNS, OR EXCHANGES.
Due to the digital nature of ECU calibration files and the technical development associated with these products, OTS tunes are sold on a final-sale basis, subject to applicable law.
Refunds will not be provided based on:
-
Differences between actual and expected boost pressure.
-
Comparisons with factory, competitor, or generic basemap boost targets.
-
Subjective expectations regarding acceleration, power delivery, or driving characteristics.
-
Horsepower or torque results that differ from customer expectations.
-
Customer preference for a more aggressive calibration.
-
Purchase of an incorrect tune for the customer's disclosed or actual modifications.
-
Requests for custom calibration adjustments outside the scope of the purchased OTS service.
If a calibration has a verified delivery issue, file corruption, or demonstrable incompatibility with a vehicle configuration that was correctly disclosed and explicitly supported at purchase, 1:1 Tuning will review the issue and offer an appropriate remedy consistent with applicable consumer law.
7. Customer Acknowledgment
By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using a 1:1 Tuning OTS calibration, the customer acknowledges that:
-
They understand the difference between OTS and custom tuning.
-
Specific boost pressure, horsepower, and torque numbers are not guaranteed.
-
Higher boost pressure does not necessarily mean greater performance.
-
The calibration is intended for the supported vehicle modifications and specified fuel type.
-
Performance modifications and ECU tuning involve inherent mechanical risks.
-
They have reviewed and accepted the final-sale/no-refund policy, subject to applicable law.
Our priority is delivering a well-developed, performance-oriented calibration—not chasing boost numbers at the expense of mechanical reliability.
