No Machining necessary to use
One of the weakest links on boosted K-series engines are the head gaskets. Until now, the best way to seal your head is to use a copper O-ring with MLS gasket, or steel O-ring with Copper gasket. Both of which required machining a groove in either the block or head.
Now, with the Athena Vulcan Ring Style gasket, the ring "bites" into the cylinder head making an optimal seal of the combustion chamber. This will keep the combustion from entering the coolant passages, a known issue on the higher boost setups.
The vulcan cut ring will leave a small groove in the cylinder head, so after use, a couple of thousandths will need to be machined to get a new, clean surface.
These gaskets are available in 87 and 88mm bores.
